The Junior Automation QA Engineer role involves actively supporting QA activities within a SCRUM team. This includes assisting in the design and of test scenarios for User Storiesboth manual and automated with an increasing emphasis on automation. Under guidance from more senior colleagues and experts in this area you will collaborate with stakeholders such as the Product Owner System Designer and Business Representatives to help deliver a highquality product.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the QA and development teams to understand business and technical requirements.
- Assist in creating maintaining and executing automated test scripts for web applications and client/server environments.
- Perform testing activities including Black Box White Box and exploratory testing under guidance.
- Write and execute test cases based on provided specifications and log and track defects using bugtracking tools.
- Contribute to regression testing efforts by identifying key areas impacted by application changes.
- Participate in Agile and Scrum ceremonies ensuring testing is aligned with sprint goals.
- Learn and assist in the development of test plans scripts and scenarios for functional integration and endtoend testing.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely delivery of quality software products.
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt to new tools technologies and methodologies.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of test data for various test scenarios.
- Help identify and document test environment requirements for different projects.
- Support the team in analyzing test results and preparing test summary reports.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes and methodologies.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of test documentation including test plans and test cases.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
Qualifications :
MustHave Skills:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in software testing and proven QA automation experience
- Handson experience with UI automation testing using Selenium Cucumber and Gherkin
- Experience with API automation testing including tools such as REST Assured or Postman
- Solid experience with IntelliJ IDEA IDE
- Understanding of automation frameworks and workflows
- Experience with version control systems (e.g. Git)
- Familiarity with JIRA or similar issuetracking tools
- SQL scripting skills
- Handson experience with defect management tools
- Experience in the financial sector is preferred but not essential
- Ability to communicate IT and technology concepts in plain English and nontechnical terms to colleagues and clients
- Basic knowledge of Java programming language and objectoriented programming concepts
- Understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fastpaced environment
NicetoHave Skills:
- Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and experience with Jenkins GitHub Actions etc.
- Knowledge of testdriven development and behaviordriven development practices
- Experience with performance testing tools like JMeter or Gatling
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS Azure or Google Cloud
