General Summary
- Under general supervision responsible for the administration maintenance and dissemination of the American College of Cardiology National Cardiovascular Data Registry (NCDR) ACTION CathPCI and ICD registry information and the American Heart Association (AHA) Get With The Guidelines (GWTG) data base. Performs activities related to the NCDR registries operations including data collection data entry data reporting analysis Data Quality Report (DQR) and submission to the Maryland Health Care Commission (MHCC) and Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems (MIEMSS)/EMS as required by COMAR regulations. Responsible for clinical screening abstraction data compilation documentation and entry into the data bases for all eligible cases. Integrated monitors outcomes of patients with these programs. Provides communication links among UM Baltimore Washington Medical Center (UM BWMC) multidisciplinary groups UMMS corporate committees and at the State NCDR Data Coordinators meetings. Assist in the development implementation and evaluation of the quality metrics set by American College of Cardiology with the goal of maintaining and enhancing the care delivered to patients and ensuring compliance with these metrics. May be called upon to provide support and project management related to other accreditation/certification and performance improvement activities.

Qualifications :
Qualifications
- Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland is required. Bachelors degree is required. A Masters of Science in Nursing or a Masters degree in a healthcare field is preferred. A minimum of 3 years experience caring for cardiac patients and cardiac catheterization experience is preferred. CPR Certification is required. One to two years of management and/or quality experience is preferred.
Working Conditions
- Variable working environment exists. Works inside a clean welllit office environment. Generally works Monday through Friday but may be expected to work past normal tour of duty if need arises. May also be required to work in an area where lighting may range from well to dimly lit. Temperature may be kept cool. May require prolonged observation of video display and computer monitors. Environment may be fast paced and demand a high energy level. Potential for exposure to XRays requiring strict adherence to radiation safety guidelines including correct wearing of protective lead apparel monitoring of film badges and adherence to pregnancy policies. May be exposed to frequent interruptions and multiple crisis situations.
Physical Requirements
- Manual dexterity for operating equipment and computers visual acuity for viewing display monitors and reading patient charts. Acute hearing to assimilate oral communication from patients physicians other health care providers and family members. Standing walking stretching throughout most of the work day.
