The Medical Sales Representative is responsible for promoting and selling the company s medical products to healthcare professionals hospitals clinics and other medical facilities. The role involves building strong relationships with healthcare providers ensuring they are wellinformed about the company s products and driving sales growth within a designated territory.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales and Promotion:
- Promote and sell medical products (e.g. pharmaceuticals medical devices diagnostic equipment) to healthcare professionals including doctors nurses pharmacists and hospital administrators.
- Achieve sales targets and objectives set by the company and report on progress regularly.
- Present and demonstrate product features and benefits to healthcare professionals to generate interest and close sales.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase market share and sales in assigned territory.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong longterm relationships with clients healthcare providers and key decisionmakers.
- Provide highlevel customer service to existing accounts ensuring satisfaction and loyalty.
- Understand customer needs and provide personalized solutions tailored to their requirements.
Market and Product Knowledge:
- Maintain indepth knowledge of the company s medical products their uses and any regulatory requirements.
- Stay uptodate with industry trends competitive products and regulatory changes affecting the healthcare sector.
- Effectively communicate the advantages and benefits of the products to healthcare providers.
Territory Management:
- Develop a strategic territory plan to maximize coverage and sales opportunities.
- Identify new prospects and expand customer base within the assigned territory.
- Monitor competitor activities and provide feedback to the management team to help adapt strategies.
Product Training and Support:
- Provide training and product demonstrations to healthcare providers and their staff to ensure proper use of medical products.
- Address customer inquiries resolve complaints and provide technical support as needed.
- Conduct regular followups to ensure product satisfaction and compliance.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities customer interactions and account details using CRM tools or reporting systems.
- Prepare and submit regular sales reports including progress toward goals pipeline status and market feedback.
- Document customer orders and manage order processing through internal systems.
Collaboration with Internal Teams:
- Work closely with the marketing customer support and product development teams to share customer feedback and improve products/services.
- Collaborate with other sales representatives to exchange information and share best practices.
Requirements
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Educational Background:
- Bachelors degree in Life Sciences Pharmacy Nursing or a related field is preferred.
- Relevant certifications in medical sales or healthcare management are a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum of 13 years of experience in medical sales pharmaceutical sales or related healthcare industry experience.
- Prior experience in selling medical devices or healthcare products is highly preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong sales and negotiation skills with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Excellent communication presentation and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with healthcare professionals.
