Art Teacher (KS34) Merton Secondary School Unleash Your Creative Potential!

Calling all talented and inspiring Art Teachers!

Do you have a passion for art and the ability to nurture creativity in young people is a thriving secondary school in Merton committed to providing a highquality art education that develops students artistic talents visual literacy and appreciation for the arts.

About the Art Teacher Role:

We are seeking an exceptional Art Teacher to join our dedicated Art department. The successful Art Teacher will have the opportunity to teach Art across Key Stages 3 and 4 inspiring students with engaging lessons and a love for visual expression.

What youll do as an Art Teacher:

  • Deliver engaging and innovative Art lessons that cater to a range of learning styles and artistic abilities.
  • Create a stimulating and supportive learning environment where students feel confident to explore their creativity and develop their artistic skills.
  • Teach a variety of Art techniques and media including drawing painting sculpture and digital art.
  • Encourage students to engage with Art history and contemporary art practices.
  • Organise and participate in school exhibitions and art events.
  • Assess and monitor student progress in Art providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Contribute to the development of the Art curriculum and departmental resources.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice and ensure the highest standards of Art teaching.

What youll need to be a successful Art Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A degree in Art Fine Art or a related field.
  • Experience teaching Art at the secondary level.
  • A strong understanding of the UK National Curriculum for Art.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for Art and a commitment to inspiring students.
