- Estimated Compensation: $75000 $78000 yearly (negotiable).

- Period of Performance: 05 May 2025 04 May 2027 (Option to Extend Services)

Working Hours
Work will be scheduled generally from 0730 a.m. to 1630 p.m. Monday through Friday. However there may be times when the employees must work after duty hours and/or on weekends to support specific tasks. Although the schedule may have to be flexible it will not exceed 40 hours per week. Temporary alternate work locations may be assigned.
Mandatory Qualifications
- Have a Ph.D. in a qualifying acoustics university program or Master of Science degree and at least three (3) years of experience modeling and simulation in noise source and noise propagation modeling.
- Possess a minimum of 5 years experience in digital modeling physics or engineering research.
- Have three (3) or more peerreviewed publications in the Journal of the Acoustical Society of America (JASA) Noise Control Engineering Journal (NCEJ) American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Aeroacoustics or related acoustics journals.
- Have three (3) or more aircraft acoustics field data collection experience.
- Some experiences with traditional manned DoD aircraft are preferred but nontraditional aircraft (e.g. rockets electric vehicles air taxis or uncrewed aerial vehicles) are also preferred.
- Able to be granted Secret Clearance with the Contractor initiating the investigation immediately upon award.
- The Research Acoustician shall have a signed NonDisclosure Agreement (NDA) in place with the company regarding potential access to confidential proprietary and/or sensitive information. The NDA shall be provided to the Government Program Manager by the start of performance.

Highly Desired Qualifications:
- Familiarity with the primary DoD Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the
- National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) digital modeling tools for aircraft noise simulation exist and are under development.
- Prior experience with the digital library archive and standard formatting of DoD aircraft noise datasets currently stored at the 711th Human Performance Wing/Cognition and Modeling Branch.
- Active Secret Clearance.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist with the direction of or recommend new RDT&E efforts across the technical subject matter areas of physical acoustics and bioacoustics.
- Conduct and evaluate technical reviews of research proposals SOWs and project reports at the discretion of the government representative.
- Maintain or guide aircraft noise data collection capabilities and conduct experiments to study the acoustic properties of materials and effects of sound waves in different environments including fieldwork to record and document data.
- Develop and implement numerical models to simulate acoustic phenomena using software tools and analyze experimental data to draw conclusions about sound propagation and missionrelated impacts.
- Prepare reports research papers and briefings to communicate findings to internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on projects involving acoustic measurement material testing and environmental assessments.
- Serve as the focal point for requirements and recommend the purchase and maintenance of laboratory equipment used for acoustic testing and analysis.
