Provide a specialist elective and trauma Shoulder and Elbow service, plus contribute to general orthopaedic trauma management. The position includes elective operating, general and specialist trauma operating, elective and fracture clinics, teaching of the AOA trainee and other junior doctors.
Key Responsibilities:Clinical Services- Provide specialist elective & trauma care in Shoulder & Elbow Surgery.
- Participate in elective & trauma surgery, outpatient clinics, and ward rounds.
- Contribute to the Orthopaedic Trauma Management Team.
- Deliver regional & outreach services (including telehealth clinics).
Leadership & Education- Supervise & train AOA trainees, registrars, junior doctors & medical students.
- Engage in audit, M&M meetings, & departmental research.
- Develop educational initiatives for trainees and staff.
Governance & Research- Contribute to clinical governance, patient safety, & quality improvement initiatives.
- Engage in Orthopaedic research & innovation.
- Participate in policy development & hospital committee work.
305-bed major referral hospital -
Specialist Services: Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Cardiology, ICU, Paediatrics, and more.
- Orthopaedic Unit:
- Team includes 4.25 FTE Staff Specialists, SMO, 1 AOA SET trainee, PHOs, RMOs & Interns.
- Dedicated Ortho-Geriatrician supporting the team.
- 36-bed surgical ward with 5 operating theatres
- Provides elective & trauma services across regional sites via telehealth & outreach clinics.

Eligibility & Requirements: Medical Registration: AHPRA Specialist Registration (or eligibility)
FRACS (Orthopaedic Surgery) or Equivalent Qualification
Completion of Shoulder & Elbow Fellowship (Preferred but not mandatory)
