Job Description

Fulltime Permanent September 2025 Start

Are you a passionate and inspiring Teacher of Art with a desire to nurture students creativity and artistic expression We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual including ECTs to join our thriving Art department in an independent school in Hammersmith.

We offer a stimulating and supportive environment where students are encouraged to explore their artistic talents experiment with different media and techniques and develop their appreciation for the visual arts.

About the Art Department:

The Art department is a dynamic and collaborative team with a shared passion for fostering a love of art in our students. We offer a rich and engaging curriculum that covers a wide range of art forms from painting and drawing to sculpture and digital media.

About the Role:

  • Teach Art across Key Stages 3 and 4 with the possibility of teaching at GCSE and A Level depending on experience and interest.
  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities.
  • Use a range of teaching methods and resources including demonstrations workshops gallery visits and art history lectures to inspire students creativity and artistic expression.
  • Assess student progress set targets and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys.
  • Contribute to the departments curriculum development and resource creation ensuring that our Art & Design curriculum remains relevant and challenging.
  • Foster a love of art in students encouraging them to explore different art forms and develop their own artistic voice.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in Art education.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds QTS or equivalent (or is eligible to apply).
  • Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Art & Design.
  • Demonstrates a passion for teaching Art & Design.
  • Has strong communication interpersonal and classroom management skills.
  • Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
