Job Title: Engineering Technician
Location: Irvine CA 92618
Duration: 6 Months (Possible Extensions)
Shift: 1st Shift Standard
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for performing a variety of engineering technical duties requiring a high degree of accuracy across multiple disciplines including Materials & Processes Dynamics Electronics Mechanical Calibration and Customer Support. The role involves working with laboratory equipment performing testing troubleshooting and supporting engineering functions.
Essential Functions:
Materials & Processes:

Operate laboratory equipment such as hardness testers tensile testing machines emission spectrometers contamination analysis tools and metallurgical preparation instruments.

Utilize precision gauging equipment including micrometers dial indicators surface plates and microscopes.

Prepare test reports based on specification requirements.
-
Demonstrate a working knowledge of material and process specifications.
Dynamics:
-
Set up and operate digital sine/random and shock test equipment including accelerometer hookups centrifuges oscilloscopes oscillographs and XY plotters.

Perform posttest disassembly and assist in analysis.
-
Interpret test data and prepare detailed reports.
-
Demonstrate knowledge of military standards related to dynamic testing and environmental testing of fuel hydraulic and pneumatic components.
Electronics:
-
Troubleshoot electronic circuits and instrumentation setups.
-
Conduct testing using standard and specialized electronic test equipment.
-
Demonstrate working knowledge of electronic principles data acquisition process control systems microprocessors and automatic test equipment.
Mechanical:
-
Assemble component parts based on engineering drawings.
-
Set up and troubleshoot experimental or limitedrun assembly and test activities.

Perform posttest disassembly and assist in analysis.

Utilize specialized lab test equipment such as recording oscillographs oscilloscopes flow measuring equipment and computerized test equipment.

Demonstrate knowledge of fluid power systems and cryogenic materials.
Calibration:
-
Perform calibration on semicomplex electronic measuring and test equipment (M&TE).
-
Set up calibration test conditions based on engineering specifications schematics and procedures.
-
Analyze historical data to determine calibration intervals.
-
Develop calibration procedures in accordance with national and international standards.
Customer Support:
-
Perform maintenance and inspections on hydraulic pneumatic fuel and electronic products and systems.

Investigate and resolve technical product or service issues.
-
Provide onsite technical assistance repairs and corrective actions.

Maintain and analyze performance and service records.
-
Instruct customers on the operation use and maintenance of equipment.

Ensure accuracy of work instructions and service manuals.
General Responsibilities:

Utilize hand and power tools as required.

Maintain accurate qualification data and project logbooks.
-
Interface with employees from engineering manufacturing quality control and vendors.

Assist in training less experienced personnel.

Perform other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
-
Four years of related experience trade or military training or equivalent skills.
-
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings schematics and procedures.
-
Proficiency with PCbased applications and electronic consoles.
-
Strong mathematical skills.
-
Personal hand tools may be required.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Effective verbal written and interpersonal communication skills.
-
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
-
