Job Description
Legal Billing Specialist
Do you enjoy working with numbers and are looking for an opportunity in the legal industry Our law firm is seeking a billing specialist to work in our accounting department and assist our billing attorneys with revising processing and issuing accurate monthly billing. Youll be required to perform consistent follow up in this role so experience with accounts receivable is highly preferred. If youre a detailoriented professional have at least 2 years of billing experience and enjoy working in a facepast environment we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities
- Apply incoming payments to the correct accounts and keep accurate financial records
- Work with the clients accounting department to resolve any billing inquiries
- Revise invoices in accordance with attorney requests and prepare final bills for mailing
- Distribute initial invoices for attorney review every month
- Review reports indicating past due accounts and follow up on when to expect payment
Qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and organizational skills are needed in this role
- Computer proficiency with MS Office Excel and billing software programs is essential
- Two years of experience working as in a billing specialist position at a law firm
- Able to produce a highquality work product while handling multiple projects
- Experience with Coyote or equivalent timebilling accounting software experience.
- Strong technology skills and particularly strong skills related to third party electronic billing software preferred (TyMetrix Serengeti LegalX Collaborati etc.).
- Ability to research and resolve errors or discrepancies effectively and efficiently.
- Ability to anticipate work needs and follow through with minimal direction follow up on own initiative.
- Must have exemplary customer service mindset and interaction and proactive communication skills.
