We are seeking an exceptional Food Technology Teacher to join our dedicated team. As a Food Technology Teacher you will have the opportunity to teach Food Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4 inspiring students with engaging lessons and handson cooking experiences.
What youll do as a Food Technology Teacher:
- Deliver engaging and innovative Food Technology lessons that cater to a range of learning styles and abilities fostering a love of cooking and food in our students.
- Create a stimulating and supportive learning environment where students feel confident to experiment create and develop their culinary skills.
- Teach a variety of cooking techniques and food preparation methods ensuring students gain a solid foundation in Food Technology.
- Incorporate theoretical knowledge of nutrition food science and food safety into your lessons providing students with a wellrounded understanding of Food Technology.
- Assess students practical skills and theoretical understanding through a variety of formative and summative assessment methods.
- Contribute to the development of the Food Technology curriculum and departmental resources ensuring our teaching remains current and engaging.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice and ensure the highest standards of Food Technology teaching.
What youll need to be a successful Food Technology Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- A degree in Food Technology Home Economics or a related field.
- Experience teaching Food Technology at the secondary level.
- A strong understanding of the UK National Curriculum for Food Technology.
- Excellent communication interpersonal and classroom management skills.
- A passion for Food Technology and a commitment to inspiring students.
- A creative and engaging teaching style.
- A strong understanding of health and safety procedures in a food technology environment.
