About the History Teacher Role

We are seeking an inspirational and dedicated History Teacher to join our highachieving History department. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach History across Key Stages 3 and 4 inspiring students with engaging lessons and fostering their historical understanding.

Key Responsibilities of the History Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver highquality History lessons that cater to a range of learning styles and abilities.
  • Create a stimulating and supportive learning environment where students feel confident to explore historical events and develop their critical thinking skills.
  • Teach a variety of historical periods and topics promoting historical understanding and appreciation.
  • Encourage students to engage with History in a meaningful way developing their research analytical and communication skills.
  • Assess and monitor student progress in History providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Contribute to the development of the History curriculum and departmental resources.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice and ensure the highest standards of History teaching.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A degree in History or a related field.
  • Experience teaching History at the secondary level.
  • A strong understanding of the UK National Curriculum for History.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for History and a commitment to inspiring students.
