The Administration for Childrens Services (ACS) protects and promotes the safety and wellbeing of children and families through child welfare and juvenile justice services and community supports. ACS manages communitybased supports and foster care services and provides subsidized childcare vouchers. ACS child protection staff respond to allegations of child maltreatment. In juvenile justice ACS oversees detention placement and programs for youth in the community.
The Division of Family Court Legal Services (FCLS) is responsible for representing the Administration for Childrens Services in child neglect and abuse cases permanency hearings and other child welfare proceedings in the New York City Family Courts. FCLS attorneys work collaboratively with Child Protective Specialists Case Planners and other child welfare specialists to further the agencys mission on behalf of children and families. The Bronx FCLS office is located in the Bronx Family Court and is comprised of attorney staff and nonattorney support professionals. Under general supervision responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Data entry into various computer systems including LTS (Legal Tracking System)
Generate PH notices to all parties from LTS; address envelopes for mailing
File petitions with the court clerks office
Prepare attorneys file folders for court by accessing printing and compiling documents such as petitions UCRs Court Orders and other documents from UCMS throughout various stages of proceedings
Enters closed cases in WITS system and prepares boxes of files with complete case identification for warehouse pickup
Receives and responds to inquiries from caseworkers regarding information on cases in LTS
Work closely with FCLS attorneys managers legal case assistants and borough scanning teams and provide feedback to attorneys and managers on missing or incomplete orders
Receive and direct visitors and callers at office entrance to appropriate employee.
Create and update organizational charts for the office using VISIO on a monthly basis

Qualifications :
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and three years of satisfactory fulltime progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience one year of which must have been in an administrative capacity or supervising staff performing clerical/administrative work of more than moderate difficulty; or
2. An associate degree or 60 semester credits from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory fulltime progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience including one year of the administrative supervisory experience described in 1 above; or
3. A fouryear high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a States department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and five years of satisfactory fulltime progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience including one year of the administrative supervisory experience as described in 1 above;
4. Education and/or experience equivalent to 1 2 or 3 above. However all candidates must possess the one year of administrative or supervisory experience as described in 1 above. Education above the high school level may be substituted for the general clerical/administrative experience (but not for the one year of administrative or supervisory experience described in 1 above) at a rate of 30 semester credits from an accredited college for 6 months of experience up to a maximum of 3 years.
