We are currently seeking a qualified Senior Procurement Specialist to join our team based out of Calgary. The Senior Procurement Specialist will be responsible for performing assigned tasks under supervision in the formation and administration of purchase contracts construction contracts and technical service agreements. Exercising independent judgement in performing assigned tasks consistent with the development of skills as determined by assigned supervisor. Communicating with suppliers and personnel within Bantrel to establish clear definition of order requirements. Preparing bidder prequalification bid solicitation bid analysis makes commitments.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Preparation and maintenance of bidders lists
- Negotiating to obtain preferred pricing terms and conditions to the greatest extent possible
- Reviewing bid tabulations for accuracy
- Executing commitments within delegated signing authority and obtains signatures that require higher authority
- Developing and maintaining pro forma documents including legal comments to commercial terms and conditions
- Ensuring project purchasing activities are consistent with Bantrel Policies Instructions and Procurement Procedures and guidelines
- Coordinating purchasing operations in control and support offices and providing guidance to project jobsite personnel
- Monitoring the MR Status Sheet to ensure milestone dates are being met
- Monitoring milestone status to ensure supplier engineering fabrication and shipments are meeting the project schedule dates
- Ensuring that changes claims and disputes are satisfactorily resolved and required approvals are on file
- Ensuring Order revisions are being processes in a timely manner
- Requiring that order close out is routinely done as soon as it can be
- Develops or assists in developing and monitors operating plans and procedures in accordance with Procurement and project plans procedures and guidelines:
- Assists in the development of project purchases operating procedures
- Assists in the development of the project MAS and DOR
- Provides input to the project staffing and work hour plan
- Reviews lessons learned data base for suitable application to tasks
- Performs purchasing personnel indoctrination and training. Performs purchase order formation and administration activities when required by workload complexity etc.
Qualifications :
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5 years experience in EPC or related industries in function of Procurement Engineering or Construction.
- Formulate and awards large complex POs with little supervision
- Has a basic understanding of Supervising workload distribution and execution of the work Personnel requisitioning interviewing and recommendation for hire Indoctrination of assigned personnel to the project requirements and procedures Recommending appropriate training and development of purchasing specialists Development of project purchasing operating procedures Coordination of work between control and support purchasing office International commercial conditions of buying as well as international suppliers Reporting of Metrics and collecting the data
- Has an advanced understanding of Formation and administration of POs purchase contracts and other contract types through the several steps of bidder prequalification compilation of bid requests receipt of bids bid evaluation award monitoring the performance of suppliers and buyers; back charge procedures resolution of claims and disputes
- Working with and communicating effectively with supervisors of other project functional groups primarily Engineering Construction Project Management and other services
