Job Description

The Director Sales Training & Enablement is responsible for the global training strategy for various sales transformation initiatives that will drive our revenue growth. This role will serve as a trusted advisor and partner to Global and Regional Sales Excellence teams and will drive learning initiatives focused on the selling in a multiproduct B2B environment to maximize sales. The ideal candidate has experience developing and executing the sales learning strategy in partnership with sales enablement/excellence functions at a high growth company. In addition the candidate will have experience building strong and collaborative relationships with crossfunctional stakeholders at all levels to understand needs and provide well defined learning solutions to maximize impact and drive consistent results. This position will report to the Senior Director / Dean of Sales College Visa University. 

With Visas strategy and priorities in mind you will conduct root cause analysis assessments and synthesize performance data to identify skill and knowledge gaps. Reporting to the Global Head of Sales Learning you will partner with Visa University (VU) the People Team and business colleagues to close those gaps by creating and deploying solutions that leverage the 3Es of development (Experience Exposure Education). This includes performance improvement measurement strategies change initiatives programmatic recommendations and curriculum design.

Essential Functions

  • With the guidance of the Sales College leader develop an overall learning strategy and implementation plan for priority Sales initiatives i.e. B2B solution selling deal structuring commercial acumen Sales skill sales leader effectiveness etc. that meets global needs and promotes and facilitates a high performance culture.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and cultivate mutually respectful relationships across the organization. Guide business clients through goal definition opportunity identification and solutions using problemsolving principles.
  • Serve as a performance consultant and collaborate with global and regional business partners to determine strategic learning needs of the organization. Understand key business drivers and operational infrastructure.
  • Use design expertise business acumen and influencing skills to design curate or build the most impactful learning solutions. Be adept at both designing learning programs as well as providing strategic direction for work done by other partners/vendors.
  • Develop an overall learning strategy and implementation plan for the businessspecific initiatives that will drive growth aligned with business objectives and key KPIs.
  • Engage collaborate and partner with colleagues and resources within the Visa University organization as needed to successfully support and fulfill learning solution delivery.
  • Leverage existing VU platforms and tools to more efficiently obtain feedback deliver training globally and measure learning effectiveness to drive continuous improvement. Develop implement and evaluate the effectiveness of programs in partnership with the Data Analytics team. Leverage analysis of ongoing programs and initiatives in enhancing future strategies and tactics.
  • Create a network of external content providers/experts as appropriate to ensure bestinclass solutions for each business objective.
  • Support planning budget and resource forecasting as required to maximize operational efficiencies.

This is a remote position. A remote position does not require job duties be performed within proximity of a Visa office location. Remote positions may be required to be present at a Visa office with scheduled notice.


Qualifications :

Basic Qualification

  • Minimum Bachelors degree or equivalent
  • 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 810 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters MBA JD MD) or 6 years of work experience with a PhD
  • Experience in high growth B2B organization with a focus on selling complex multiproduct solutions
  • Experience transforming sales culture within a B2B organization
  • 10 years of work experience with progressive experience developing managing and implementing learning solutions preferably in a global corporate environment.
  • Learning content design and development skills to create and/or curate engaging customized learning programs.
  • Ability to build collaborative trustworthy relationships across functions and geographies.
  • Strong business acumen analytical and technical competency including experience working closely with Sales Sales Excellence/Operations and partner teams to gather input collaborate with leadership to align on a learning strategy prioritize projects based on business objectives and ROI
  • Proven experience building implementing and finetuning sales process & tools training programs in a global corporate environment
  • Critical and strategic thinking skills with strong focus on service excellence efficiency accuracy and effective project/stakeholder/relationship skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication consulting and partnering skills at a levels including the most senior levels in the organization.
  • Experience in CRM training & adoption consultative selling methodologies and new hire learning paths for clientfacing employees are preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the payments industry and commercial sales are preferred.
  • Technical acumen or relevant experience in designing technical toolbased or digital adoption (in app support) training a plus.


Additional Information :

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 510% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk communicate in person and by telephone frequently operate standard office equipment such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $129200 to $234200 USD per year which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on jobrelated factors which may include knowledge skills experience and location. In addition this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical Dental Vision 401 (k) FSA/HSA Life Insurance Paid Time Off and Wellness Program.
