Roles and responsibilities

Supervise ITV Operations: Direct and coordinate the daily activities of ITV drivers, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and ensuring adherence to schedules and safety procedures.
Assigning tasks and monitoring progress to ensure timely container movement.
Ensuring drivers adhere to safety regulations and terminal procedures.
Troubleshooting issues and resolving conflicts that may arise during operations.
Maintaining records of driver performance, container movements, and equipment status.
Conducting regular inspections of ITVs to ensure they are in good working condition.
Reporting to the ITV supervisor on operational performance and any significant issues.
Supervising and Managing Teams:
Team Leadership: Lead a team of workers, often including laborers, craftsmen, and technicians. Ensure they understand their tasks and have the proper skills and tools to complete the work.
Work Assignment: Allocate work to team members based on their skills and experience, ensuring that the workload is balanced and that tasks are completed on time.
Performance Monitoring: Monitor the performance of workers, provide feedback, and address any performance issues promptly.
. Ensuring Safety and Compliance:
Safety Standards: Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and procedures to minimize workplace accidents and ensure that workers are working in a safe environment.
Safety Training: Provide or coordinate safety training for workers, ensuring they are aware of safety hazards and how to prevent accidents.
Compliance with Regulations: Ensure that work is being carried out in compliance with local labor laws, health and safety regulations, and industry standards.
. Coordinating and Scheduling Work:
Daily Planning: Plan and organize daily work activities, set clear objectives for the team, and establish priorities.
Project Deadlines: Work with project managers or site supervisors to ensure the project stays on schedule. This involves adjusting plans as needed to overcome obstacles or delays.
Resource Management: Ensure that all materials, equipment, and tools are available and properly maintained for the tasks to be completed.

Desired candidate profile

Education: High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
Experience: Proven experience in a supervisory role within a container terminal or similar logistics environment, specifically with ITV operations.
Skills:
-Strong leadership and management skills.

-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

-Knowledge of container terminal operations and safety regulations, specifically related to ITV operations.

-Ability to operate and maintain ITVs (preferred, but not always required).

-Proficient in using terminal management systems and software.

-Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

-Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment.

Certifications: Relevant certifications in safety, equipment operation, or logistics management are a plus. Specific certifications related to operating and maintaining ITVs are highly desirable.
Quality Control and Monitoring:
Work Quality: Inspect the quality of work being done by the team to ensure it meets the company's standards, client expectations, and regulatory requirements.
Problem Solving: Address any technical or quality issues that arise during the course of the project, ensuring solutions are implemented promptly.
Documentation: Keep accurate records of progress, daily logs, equipment usage, and any issues that arise, often reporting this information to higher management.
