Role: Art Teacher
Nature: FullTime Permanent
Start: ASAP
Salary: MPS/UPS SEN Allowance (dependent on experience)
A supportive and inclusive SEN school in Southwark is seeking a creative and dedicated Art Teacher to join their team as soon as possible. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and nurture students with special educational needs helping them express themselves through the creative arts and reach their full potential.
Role Highlights:
- Fulltime permanent position at a vibrant SEN school in Southwark
- Teach Art to students with a range of special educational needs providing tailored support to enhance their creative expression
- Plan and deliver engaging differentiated Art lessons ensuring accessibility for all students
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel confident to explore their artistic abilities
- Work closely with the SENCO and other staff to ensure the best outcomes for students with individual learning needs
- Support students personal development promoting selfexpression and boosting confidence through the arts
- Track and assess student progress adapting teaching methods to meet the needs of each student
Experience & Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching Art ideally in an SEN setting or with students with additional needs
- Strong understanding of creative teaching methods and strategies for differentiating Art lessons
- A passion for the arts and helping students express themselves creatively
- Patience empathy and the ability to build positive relationships with students
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Enhanced DBS check required
