Job Title: History Teacher

About the Role:

A wellrespected Church of England secondary school in Croydon seeks a dedicated and inspiring History Teacher to join their thriving History department. This is a fulltime permanent position offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to a supportive and faithbased learning environment. The History Teacher will teach across Key Stages 3 and 4 with potential for Key Stage 5 teaching. The school has a strong Christian ethos.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan prepare and deliver engaging and challenging History lessons.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners.
  • Assess student progress and provide regular feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attainment.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that reflects the schools Christian values.
  • Collaborate with colleagues within the History department.
  • Contribute to the development of the History curriculum.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/guardians.
  • Adhere to all school safeguarding policies.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience teaching History at Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 experience desirable).
  • Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for History.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Supportive of the schools Christian ethos.
  • A dedicated History Teacher
