Job Summary:
- The Welder is responsible for joining metal parts using various welding techniques ensuring the quality and integrity of welds and adhering to safety protocols.
- They will work with blueprints and technical drawings to fabricate and repair metal structures and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:

Welding Operations:
- Perform welding operations using different types of welding equipment (e.g. arc welding MIG welding TIG welding).
- Prepare metal surfaces for welding including cleaning and cutting.
- Read and interpret blueprints technical drawings and specifications to determine welding procedures.
- Select appropriate welding techniques materials and equipment for specific applications.
- Ensure welds meet quality standards and specifications.
- Inspect welds for defects and make necessary repairs.
- Maintain and repair welding equipment.

Safety:
- Follow all safety procedures and regulations related to welding.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Other Duties:
- Assist with the fabrication and assembly of metal structures and equipment.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople and engineers.
- Maintain accurate records of welding operations.
- Troubleshoot welding issues and make necessary repairs.
