As a Critical Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant at UM BWMC you will be an integral part of a highly skilled multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing exceptional care to critically ill patients. You will collaborate with specialists across multiple disciplines including anesthesiology pulmonology surgery interventional radiology interventional cardiology neurology nephrology and oncology to deliver seamless patientcentered care.
About the Unit
Our stateoftheart Critical Care unit is designed to optimize patient outcomes and includes:
- 42bed closed ICU covering both IMC and ICU patients
- Inhouse attending coverage 24 hours a day
- 14 required shifts per 4 weeks
- Procedures: perform a range of critical care procedures including intubation central and arterial line placements bronchoscopy thoracentesis chest tube insertions paracentesis and lumbar punctures.
- Advanced technology including continuous bedside monitoring continuous renal replacement (CRRT) and intraaortic balloon pump (IABP)
- Large resuscitation rooms equipped for multiprovider lifesaving interventions

Qualifications :
- Masters degree with completion of an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant
- Minimum 1 year of ICU experience as a Nurse Practitioner Physician Assistant or completion of a hospital based APP residency
- Maryland license CDS and DEA license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certification (or obtained prior to providing direct patient care)
