Overview:
The Senior Steward is responsible for ensuring an exceptional dining experience for guests by overseeing service quality managing the stewarding team and maintaining high hygiene standards. Reporting to the Restaurant Captain and Manager the ideal candidate should have a keen eye for detail strong leadership skills and a passion for hospitality.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Guest Service & Supervision:
- Ensure a warm welcome and excellent dining experience for all guests.
- Assist guests with menu recommendations special dietary requests and beverage pairing.
- Address customer concerns promptly and professionally ensuring high satisfaction levels.
- Oversee the dining area to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Handle VIP guests and special reservations with extra attention.
2. Team Management & Coordination:
- Guide and support junior stewards in delivering quality service.
- Train new stewards on restaurant standards service etiquette and food presentation.
- Monitor staff performance and provide constructive feedback for improvement.
- Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely service of food and beverages.
- Ensure seamless communication between the frontofhouse and backofhouse teams.
3. Operations & Hygiene:
- Supervise table setup cleanliness and hygiene before and after each service.
- Ensure adherence to food safety regulations hygiene protocols and restaurant policies.
- Monitor and maintain restaurant inventory including cutlery glassware and napkins.
- Assist in handling stock replenishment and reporting shortages to the manager.
4. Billing & Order Processing:
- Support stewards in taking and processing orders accurately.
- Assist in managing guest bills ensuring accuracy and prompt settlements.
- Work closely with the cashier and restaurant manager to handle billing queries.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 24 years of experience as a Steward or in a similar hospitality role.
- Previous experience in a fine dining or multicuisine restaurant setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic knowledge of food and beverages including different cuisines.
- Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and multitask effectively.
- Professional and customerfriendly attitude.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays.
- Knowledge of POS systems and restaurant billing procedures.
