Working Hours: Monday to Friday, Day Shift

Job Overview:

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Yard Operative / HGV Shunter to join our team in Chelmsford. This role involves general yard and warehouse duties, with the additional responsibility of maneuvering HGV vehicles safely and efficiently around the yard. The ideal candidate must hold a valid HGV license, though newly qualified drivers are welcome to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely maneuvering HGV vehicles around the yard as required.

• Ensuring vehicles are positioned correctly for loading and unloading operations.

• Conducting routine safety checks on vehicles and reporting any issues.

• Assisting with general yard and warehouse duties, including loading, unloading, and stock management.

• Keeping the yard and work areas clean, organized, and free from hazards.

• Supporting the transport and warehouse teams with operational needs.

• Adhering to all health and safety regulations and company policies.

Requirements:

• Valid HGV Class 1 or Class 2 license (new passes accepted).

• A valid Driver CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph card.

• Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Good communication and organizational skills.

• Strong awareness of health and safety regulations.

• A proactive and positive attitude to work.
