Summary: The supervisor oversees a team of drivers Class A and B delivering to Dominos Pizza stores. The supervisor is responsible for scheduling drivers routing trucks reviewing trip sheets for accuracy and ensuring compliance with DOT regulations state local laws and company policies and programs. Effectively and efficiently handle customer complaints and concerns. Train new drivers in job duties safely and complete Job Safety Observations (JSO). The supervisor must be comfortable working in a diverse fast paced environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Leadership:
- Recruit interview select and mentor new and tenured drivers
- Support driver engagement initiatives
- Monitor drivers performance and hold them accountable when performance is below expectations using coaching and/or progressive discipline as needed
- Complete drivers annual performance reviews
- Review drivers lytx and logs and coach according to company
- Collaborate in driver onboarding and training
- Ensure safe work environment in compliance with FMCSA OSHA company standards local state and federal requirements
- Effectively communicate daytoday with drivers departments and vendors
- Create positive environment morale and respect among team members
- Attend and participate in classroom or virtual Leadership & Development trainings
- Coordinate safety/team/quarterly meetings
Reporting/Budget:
- Prepare and assist with Transportation generated reports
- Monitor budget and fuel cards to ensure funds are maximized
- Participate in the development of budgets
Routing Scheduling Hours of Service and Maintenance:
- Weekly schedule driver routes and rerouting as necessary to ensure route coverage
- Conduct route analysis and recommend saving opportunities to Manager
- Monitor driver hours of service via the onboard system
- Conduct route observations to ensure Drivers are safely performing their duties as required by company and DOT standards (The number of observations per period is determined by the number of drivers at the SCC)
- Maintain and monitor food safety standards in compliance with company and franchisee requirements
- Perform payroll duties when necessary and review driver payroll for accuracy
- Monitor misdeliveries and make recommendations to the manager on avoidance strategies
- Maintain driver qualification file
- Schedule truck maintenance and maintain fleet image
- Conduct accident investigations
- Coordinate deliveries and backhaul activities
- Assist the Transportation Manager with truck leasing meetings to ensure PMs are met to Dominos standard and repairs are completed in a timely manner
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
- As needed if qualified drive a company vehicle or straight truck for deliveries or to the leasing company for service/maintenance and on occasion work the yard
Customer Relations:
- Answer Slice of Pie complaints and keep leadership informed of findings
- Maintain positive customer relationships
- Customer Surveys
Qualifications :
- High School Diploma some college hours 2year degree preferred
- 23 years of documented supervisory experience
- 23 years route scheduling experience
- Knowledge of Department of Transportation FMSCA rules and regulations
- MS Office SAP Transportation Management Systems (TMS) computers and scanner equipment/software
- Willingness to support a 24hour operation including carrying an emergency cell phone as needed
- Resultsoriented with strong organizational decision making and people skills
- Successfully pass a background check every third year on your anniversary date
- Commercial Drivers License Class A a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time climb stairs and lift to 25 lbs. frequently and 50 lbs. on occasion
- Ability to bend twist reach push and pull throughout the shift
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures (nonairconditioned warehouse) both indoors and outdoors including refrigerated conditions 3338
- Ability to work in an environment with exposure to loud machinery
- Must be able to work around yeast and flour
