Job Description
Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician
Location: Loveland CO 80538
Duration: 12 Months
The Contractor shall provide qualified personnel to perform essential sterile processing services including:
-
Onsite decontamination inspection assembly highlevel disinfection sterilization and distribution of medical instruments and equipment.

Supporting various departments including:
-
Surgical Specialty (Operating Room)
-
Clinics (Specialty Podiatry Ophthalmology Dental Ear Nose and Throat)
-

Ensuring compliance with national standards established by:
-
Office of Sterile Processing (VA Governing)
-
Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA)
-
Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI)
-
Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
-
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
-
Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO)
-

Receive contaminated instruments from various medical units and inspect them for damage and functionality.

Determine appropriate decontamination and cleaning methods per Instructions for Use (IFU) or Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
-
Utilize soaking scrubbing brushing rinsing ultrasonic equipment and automated washers to remove contaminants.
-
Remove items from washer disinfectors and assemble trays based on recognition of key instruments and scheduled procedures.

Ensure thorough decontamination before assembly.

Assemble instrument sets and trays accurately ensuring proper arrangement of instruments.

Disassemble inspect troubleshoot and verify the functionality of complex surgical equipment before sterilization.

Prepare a full range of instrument sets and trays used throughout the medical center including:

Simple sets with a few instruments
-
Complex sets with up to 90100 instruments (e.g. arthroscopic ENT laparoscopic ophthalmic orthopedic full mouth extraction)
