Job Description
Job Title: Transportation Manager
Job Summary:
The Transportation Manager is responsible for planning organizing and overseeing the transportation of goods supplies and equipment to ensure efficient safe and costeffective transportation operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Route Planning and Optimization: Plan and optimize transportation routes to reduce costs improve efficiency and ensure ontime delivery.
2. Carrier Management: Develop and maintain relationships with transportation carriers negotiate rates and manage carrier performance.
3. Fleet Management: Oversee the maintenance repair and replacement of companyowned vehicles ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
4. Safety and Compliance: Ensure transportation operations comply with federal state and local regulations and implement safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
5. Budgeting and Cost Control: Manage transportation budgets analyze costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
6. Performance Metrics and Reporting: Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure transportation efficiency productivity and costeffectiveness.
7. Communication and Collaboration: Coordinate with internal stakeholders including logistics warehousing and customer service teams
Education
1. Bachelors degree in Logistics Transportation Business Administration or a related field.
2. Associates degree or diploma in a related field with relevant experience.
Experience
1. Minimum 35 years of experience in transportation management logistics or a related field.
2. Proven track record of success in managing transportation operations including experience with route planning carrier management and safety compliance.
