Job Overview

The school is seeking a dedicated and passionate Year 2 Class Teacher to join our dynamic and supportive team. The ideal candidate will be committed to delivering highquality education fostering a nurturing learning environment and supporting the holistic development of students. This role involves designing and implementing engaging lessons that cater to a diverse group of learners assessing student progress and maintaining effective classroom management. The teacher will also be responsible for fostering strong relationships with parents and caregivers contributing to the school community and participating in extracurricular activities where required. A strong commitment to studentcentered learning creativity and a collaborative approach to education is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan prepare and deliver engaging lessons in line with the Year 2 curriculum.
  • Assess track and report on students progress and development.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation.
  • Support students social emotional and academic growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues parents and caregivers to enhance student learning.
  • Maintain uptodate knowledge of best teaching practices and educational developments.
  • Ensure a safe and orderly classroom that promotes a love for learning.
  • Participate in staff meetings training sessions and school events.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) PGCE B.Ed. State License or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • At least 3 years experience teaching within a primary school setting
  • Strong understanding of the Year 2 curriculum and assessment strategies.
  • Excellent communication organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Desirable:

  • Experience using phonicsbased teaching strategies.
  • Familiarity with formative and summative assessment methods.
  • Knowledge of technology integration in the classroom.
