Our client a prestigious and awardwinning winery is seeking a Financial Controller to join their expanding team. This fulltime role has become available due to the winerys commitment to continuously improving its services and operations for its esteemed clientele.
Role Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled Financial Controller who is wellversed in accounting principles financial reporting and budgeting. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset excellent leadership abilities and proficiency in financial software including Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the daytoday operations of the Finance department ensuring smooth and efficient functioning.
Organize and streamline the finance function to maintain efficiency and accuracy.
Prepare financial and management reports ensuring they are accurate and timely.
Develop and maintain budgets forecasts and cash flow analysis to support business decisions.
Maintain the financial ledgers and oversee all accounting processes.
Prepare monthly management accounts and other financial statements.
Supervise the payroll process to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Prepare and submit VAT returns in a timely manner.
Qualifications & Skills
MQF Level 6 or equivalent in Accounting or Finance.
Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role.
Previous experience with Shireburn financial software is an advantage.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office particularly Excel and Word.
Excellent communication skills in both English and Maltese (oral and written).
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with the capability to lead a team effectively.
