Science Intern

AECOMs Ecological Resources Team is seeking a parttime Intern Scientist (Wildlife Biologist/ Botanist /Field Ecologist) for immediate employment in the Tampa FL office. The appropriately qualified candidate will be a dynamic individual capable of conducting field surveys and delivering highquality technical reports. 

This position is expected to begin as soon as possible.

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

• Gathering organizing and analyzing field data to be used in the preparation of scientific reports 
• Conducting environmental impact assessments and field surveys for rare threatened or endangered species and their habitats
• Conducting habitat assessments and vegetation classifications including wetland delineations
• Preparing highquality technical reports and environmental permit application packages
• May require working long field days outdoors sometimes under rigorous conditions (e.g. hot and/or rainy weather remote areas in a variety of habitats) 

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements:

• Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelors degree in Biology Ecology Environmental Science or other closely related field and must have completed at least one year of study. Candidates who have recently graduated with a Bachelors degree and plan to continue with the Masters degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelors degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship 
• Valid U.S. Drivers License required to visit project sites clients and other AECOM offices.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with field data collection data review and preparation of technical documents.  
• Working knowledge of applicable federal and state environmental laws and regulations (Clean Water Act Endangered Species Act NEPA etc.) as they relate to biological resource impacts and environmental permitting. 
• Selfmotivated individual with a strong attention to detail good timeuse skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Excellent analytical judgment and problemsolving capabilities.
• Ability to handle the demands of multiple priorities for various clients and projects.
• Highly effective verbal and written communication skills; extremely proficient in technical writing; highly effective organization and multitasking skills.
• Must be a selfstarter and motivated in producing highquality results. 
• Must be proficient with MS Office applications.
• Willingness and availability to travel occasionally (within Florida).
