Job Description

We are expanding our Behaviour Support team and would love to welcome experienced and dynamic Behaviour Support Practitioners eager to be part of a multidisciplinary team and make a difference. Youll bring expertise maturity and strong time management and organisational skills to the role.

Successful candidates will provide supports to cover NDIS participants living in the following areas (depending on where you live) Canberra Queanbeyan Tuggeranong Gunning Yass Gundaroo Belconnen Jerrabombera & surrounding areas. 

We will provide you with a bucket load of structured supervision mentoring and CPD opportunities. We promise to invest in you so you can thrive in our fastpaced energetic and fun workplace. No two days are ever the same! You might find us in childcare centres schools aged care facilities day programs the community homes and/or our clinic space. This is a great opportunity to use your Positive Behaviour Support skills to evaluate develop and deliver evidencebased support plans within a complex support space.  This role will ensure individual plans reflect our NDIS participants passions and interests and promotes their quality of life. Whilst doing so you will also build the knowledge capacity and strengths of all those who are important to the participant.

On a daily basis you will be:

  • Assisting NDIS participants along with their families and/or carers to identify their needs through assessment and personcentred planning
  • Evaluating developing and delivering evidencebased support plans within a complex support space
  • Developing meaningful goals and practical strategies utilising a positive behaviour support framework and with a commitment to eliminate restrictive practices in the home and community
  • Ensuring individual plans reflect our NDIS participants goals passions and strengths
  • Building the knowledge capacity and strengths of those who support participants in their lives family carers friends etc
  • Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team including mentoring less experienced Behaviour Support Practitioners

Qualifications :

  • Current suitability  confirmed by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission at the Core Proficient or Advanced level as a Behaviour Support Practitioner
  • Report writing experience
  • Experience in mentoring and supervising other Behaviour Support Practitioners
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills to manage a varied caseload
  • Proactive attitude motivated by improvement and the opportunity to test and learn from new ideas
  • Genuine passion for working in the disability sector
