Job Description
Job Responsibilities:
- Plan and organize server rack installations including server mounting.
- Maintain and manage UNIX/Linux operating systems.
- Install operating systems on newly mounted servers.
- Reinstall server operating systems and troubleshoot system abnormalities.
- Conduct daily server maintenance troubleshooting and repairs ensuring timely resolution of hardware issues.
- Manage internal system data including asset management ticketing and rackrelated information.
- Collaborate with remote vendors and internal teams to address hardware failures and other technical issues.
- Provide oncall support to resolve issues raised by business owners.
- Monitor and verify online asset statuses and identify potential issues.
- Perform drive erasure and reconfigure servers for decommissioning or relocation.
- Offer feedback on tools systems and platforms for improvements.
- Oversee and track part RMA processes and media destruction.
- Manage the complete server lifecycle from deployment to decommissioning.
Requirements:
- Possess a Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Computer Science Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Strong understanding of server functions and their interdependencies.
- Ability to comprehend and execute basic Shell/Bash scripts.
- Proficient in Linux systems with the capability to identify and troubleshoot hardware issues.
- Familiarity with fundamental networking concepts such as MAC Subnet and TCP/IP with the ability to perform general troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of outofband/lightsout server communication technologies including IPMI.
- Willing to work a fixed schedule of three weekdays along with Saturday and Sunday.
