Job Description
What will you be doing
At Alten LTD we are looking for an experienced EMC Tester to join our team and support projects within the automotive aerospace defence and energy sectors. You will be responsible for conducting electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing on electronic and electrical components ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations. This role requires a keen eye for detail strong problemsolving skills and handson experience with EMC test equipment.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Perform EMC testing on electronic and electrical systems in accordance with industry standards (e.g. ISO 11452 CISPR 25 MILSTD461 DO160).
- Conduct radiated and conducted emissions immunity and susceptibility tests.
- Develop and execute test plans procedures and reports.
- Operate EMC test chambers spectrum analyzers signal generators and other test equipment.
- Analyze test results identify failures and provide technical recommendations for mitigation.
- Work closely with design validation and compliance teams to ensure product certification.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Support root cause analysis and troubleshooting of EMCrelated issues.
Who are we looking for
- Experience in EMC testing within automotive aerospace defence or energy sectors.
- Proficiency in using EMC test equipment such as spectrum analyzers LISNs amplifiers and antennas.
- Knowledge of EMC standards and regulations (e.g. ISO IEC MILSTD CISPR DO160).
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications :
Experience skills and qualifications required:
- Experience with EMC chamber setup and calibration.
- Familiarity with RF and shielding techniques.
- Knowledge of signal integrity and PCB design considerations for EMC compliance.
- Previous experience in safetycritical industries.
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Electronics or a related field (or equivalent experience).
