Technical Mechanical Supervisor

Location: London & Surrounding Areas
Salary: per annum (depending on experience)
Employment Type: Fulltime Permanent
Working Hours: Monday to Friday (with occasional oncall requirements)

We are currently recruiting for a Technical Mechanical Supervisor on behalf of a wellestablished mechanical and electrical services provider operating in both the public and private sectors. This company delivers everything from oneoff installations and servicing to largescale investment projects planned preventative maintenance programmes and 24/7 emergency callout services.

This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a technical leadership role overseeing a team of skilled operatives while providing expert guidance training and support to engineers and planning teams. If you have a strong background in building maintenance mechanical services or social housing contracts this role offers a structured pathway for career progression and technical development.

The Role What Youll Be Doing

  • Supervise and manage a team of operatives ensuring productivity and efficiency.
  • Provide technical support to field engineers both remotely and onsite.
  • Oversee resource allocation ensuring operatives remain productive without compromising service quality.
  • Analyse performance data identify trends and implement improvements to enhance firsttime fix rates.
  • Deliver training and mentoring to engineers apprentices and new starters.
  • Review and validate postinspection reports ensuring compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Investigate and resolve complex heating and mechanical issues either directly or by coordinating with the team.
  • Manage stage 2 customer complaints professionally maintaining records for performance monitoring.
  • Prepare job costings and quotations in line with company procedures.
  • Attend emergency callouts to provide expert technical guidance where required.
  • Promote best practices performance management and compliance across the organisation.

What Were Looking For
Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Services Plumbing or HVAC (essential).
  • ACS Gas qualifications (preferred but not essential).
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English (Grade C or above).

Experience & Skills:

  • At least three years of experience in a technical supervisory or customer servicefocused role.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks in a fastpaced deadlinedriven environment.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical components related to building services.
  • Ability to analyse performance metrics and implement process improvements.
  • Experience working on social housing contracts local authority projects or commercial building services.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to train mentor and develop team members.
  • Strong problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
  • A flexible and handson approach to technical challenges.
