Team Summary:

Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA) is Visas consulting division serving Visas clients (including card issuers acquirers and merchants) and solving their strategic problems focused on improving performance and profitability.

Drawing on our expertise in strategy consulting payments data analytics data modelling marketing operational and macroeconomics VCA drives high impact and tangible financial results. Currently the team has 1500 professionals (including consultants data scientists designers digital marketers and economists) globally with 2350 projects executed in 2024. Key focus area of VCA is to drive Valueinkind (VIK) revenue include consulting VIK to displace cash incentives in every new or renewal client deals and build a strong team of data scientists and consultants.

The incumbent will be part of VCA geographic team cluster of Indonesia Philippines Vietnam Myanmar and Cambodia (IPVMC) markets and will be responsible for delivering data science engagements for Visas clients in this cluster. These are highly diversified geographies with clients at different levels of progress. You will be challenged to stretch your thinking and innovation is always an edge to the work that we do.

What a Data Scientist will do and learn at Visa:

The Data Scientist will serve as an individual contributor and a member of the VCA IPVMC Data Science team reporting to the Data Solutions Lead for IPVMC. This position will be based in Visas India office in Bengaluru.

Key responsibilities include:

• Manage and deliver analytics projects from conception to completion with actionable insights and recommendations
• Support project scoping defining methodology creating and executing on the framework with appropriate data mining techniques
• Support business development discussions on data science solutions understand and gather client requirements and articulate clearly on solution frameworks
• Clearly communicate the findings and recommendations from analysis drive deployment and implementation of analytics solutions and track business value impact
• Independently develop and drive storyline with a clear so what and logical flow of insights and recommended actions for clients
• Work with VisaNet (i.e. Visas transaction data) clients and 3rd party data sources to create advanced datadriven solutions and dashboards
• Actively seek out opportunities to innovate by using nontraditional data and new modelling techniques fit for purpose to the needs of our clients
• Engage with external clients and manage internal and external stakeholders

The purpose of the team is to help Visas clients grow their business and solve problems by providing consulting services through the use of data.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 23 set days a week (determined by leadership/site) with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications :

We are looking for a motivated analytical minded individual with a track record of using data science and analytics expertise to unlock business value. A successful candidate should have accumulated a variety of experience be curious about payments industry and application of data analytics be resultsdriven and clientcentric.

• Degree (Masters or higher would be an advantage) in IT Computer Science Data Science AI Machine Learning Business Analytics or equivalent experience
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Data Analytics/ Data Science/ AI/ Machine Learning
• Deep analytical expertise in applying statistical solutions to business problems
• Experience with extracting and aggregating data from large data sets using SQL Hive Spark or other tools
• Experience on programming languages (Python and/or C or more) ML/DL tools Scikitlearn Tensorflow or PyTorch and proficiency in one or more statistical techniques: Neural Networks Gradient Boosting Linear & Logistic Regression Decision Trees Random Forests Markov Chains Support Vector Machines Clustering Principal Component Analysis Factor analysis etc
• Experience working with visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI
• Demonstrated experience in managing multiple and concurrent projects with diverse crossfunctional stakeholders
• Demonstrated ability to innovate solutions and solve business problems
• Strong internal team and external client stakeholder management with a collaborative diplomatic and flexible style able to work effectively in a matrixed organization
• Excellent presentation and storytelling skills including strong oral and written capabilities

What will also help:

• Experience in analytics for retail banking card issuing or consulting to retail banks
• Good understanding of payments and banking
• Story boarding and data story telling including strong PowerPoint and Excel skills
• Experience in working closely with data science community
