Service Setting: Inpatient Hospital
Coverage Type: Clinical Call
Coverage Period: 03/01/2025 Open (6month assignment)
Clinical Shift Schedule: 7 on / 7 off (0)
OnCall Shift Schedule: Yes for APPs (Details TBD)
Call Type: Beeper
PATIENT INFORMATION
Patient Demographics: Adults ICU patients Pulmonary Consults
Patient Volume/Census: ICU 8 to 12 patients/day 35 inpatient pulmonary consults/day
Admissions: Yes
Rounding: Included
Case Mix: Critical Care Pulmonary General Procedures
FACILITY INFORMATION
No. of Beds in Department: 16 ICU beds
Hospital Beds: 150
ICU Type: Open ICU (with mandatory consults; hospital plans to transition to a closed ICU model)
EMR System: Meditech
Support Staff Available: APPs (0&) RNs
Reason for Coverage: Supplemental
PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE
Hospital Privileges Required: Yes
Temporary Privileges Available: Yes (Expedited Locum Privileges Available)

Intubations
Central lines
Arterial lines
Bronchoscopy
Lumbar puncture
Thoracentesis

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Licenses: Active OH State License Required
Certifications: ACLS BLS Required
Board Certification:
Board Certified in Pulmonary Critical Care or Critical Care Only (BE/BC required)
Alternative boards (ABPS) NOT accepted
Experience: Minimum two years in ICU and pulmonary consults preferred
Other Qualifications: Must be proficient in Meditech EMR
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage ICU patients (812/day)
Conduct inpatient pulmonary consults (35/day)
Perform all required critical care procedures
Supervise and manage APPs
Participate in hospital rounding and admissions
Respond to codes
Attend and contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings
