Job Description

Position: IT Project Program Manager
Location: Raleigh NC (27607)
Client: State of North Carolina
Duration: 12 Months

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced IT Project Program Manager to lead a largescale data modernization initiative within the public health sector. This role involves collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to develop strategic plans that align with data modernization objectives. The ideal candidate will manage project activities budgets and timelines while ensuring effective communication across all levels of staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a governance model for data modernization initiatives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to create business intelligence solutions and dashboards.
  • Manage project schedules budgets and resource allocation.
  • Oversee vendor engagement and ensure technical readiness during implementation.
  • Communicate project progress and risks to senior management.

Required Skills:

  • Proven experience in managing large complex IT projects.
  • Strong understanding of modern data architecture (data lake data warehouse).
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g. Microsoft Project).
  • Excellent leadership negotiation and communication skills.
  • Experience in a public health or state government context is a plus.
