Position: Sr. Drone / Robotics Operator
Location: 7309 Windsor Mill Rd Baltimore MD 21244
Duration: 12 Months
Work Schedule: 4 days in the field and 1 day in the office (typically Wednesdays). All 8 hr days.
Job Description:
- A Senior Drone/Robotics Operator is responsible for the advanced operation and management of drones and robotics systems used for various purposes such as aerial photography surveying inspection or research. Responsibilities may include:
- Planning and executing complex missions or projects using drones or robotics systems.
- Leading a team of operators and technicians in the setup calibration and operation of equipment.
- Conducting advanced preflight or preoperation checks to ensure equipment is functioning properly.
- Operating drones or robotics systems during missions and overseeing the collection and recording of data.
- Monitoring equipment performance and making advanced adjustments as necessary.
- Analyzing data collected from missions or projects and providing insights or recommendations.
- Developing and implementing maintenance and repair procedures for equipment.
- Ensuring compliance with safety protocols and regulations for drone or robotics operation.
- Keeping uptodate with advancements in drone and robotics technology and recommending adoption of new technologies.
- Collaborating with crossfunctional teams to integrate drones or robotics systems into larger projects or operations.
- A Senior Drone/Robotics Operator should have a deep understanding of drone and robotics systems and their operation. They should have strong leadership problemsolving and decisionmaking skills. Excellent communication and teamwork skills are also important for this role. Depending on the specific job requirements a bachelors degree or equivalent experience in a related field may be required along with relevant training or certification in drone or robotics operation.
Top 3 skills set required:
- Experience flying a drone commercially.
- Familiarity with FAA rules and regulations regarding drone use
- Ability to work in a fastpaced team environment with a heavy emphasis on Field Work.
Candidate MUST Haves:
- HS/GED and minimum of 3 years of UASrelated experience.
- FAA Remote Pilot Certificate (Part 107)
- Valid Drivers License & Reliable Transportation
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more
Education Level/Type:
- Minimum of High School Diploma / GED
- Preferred 2yr or 4yr Degree in Aeronautics or another STEM related field of study
Specific Technical/Software Experience:
- Documented 250 flight hours as a Remote Pilot in Command.
- Proficient with Microsoft operating systems and Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook File Explorer & Teams).
- Experience with various fixed wing vertical takeoff & landing (VTOL) and multirotor platforms to include those models manufactured by: DJI Skydio Flyability FreeFly Parrot Percepto Wingtra
- Experience with various sensor / payloads to include: RGB Infrared Multispectral & LiDAR
Years of Experience Required:
- A minimum of 3 years of UASrelated experience preferably in the Utility or Construction industry.
Interview Process:
- The interview process will consist of a verbal (virtual or inperson) interview where the candidate will be asked a number of questions to get specific information about the candidates past Jobs experiences and knowledge. The questions will be a combination of both Behavioral & Situational Judgement questions.
