Job Description

Client : Medical Device Manufacturing Company

Duration : 02 years

Location : Plymouth Minnesota 55441

Shift : 1st Shift

Technical Skills:

Must Have:

  • BA/BS in Chemistry BioChemistry Chemical Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience with new product development

Nice To Have:

  • Experience with biological assays and methods (e.g. ELISA assays standard 96well plate assays)
  • Expertise in analytical test method development and validation: HPLC and GC
  • Expertise with analytical instrumentation: HPLCDAD GPC GCFID/MS Karl Fischer FTIR UVVis and Rheology

Top 3 Skills Sets Required:

  • Experience with analytical methods for new product development
  • Strong problemsolving capabilities
  • Solid oral and written communication skills

3 Main Responsibilities / DaytoDay Activities:

  • Characterization of materials and components using established testing methods
  • Development and optimization of chemical processes and associated test methods under the direction of engineers and scientists
  • Preparation of solutions using standard laboratory equipment and techniques to handle solutions

Products Will This Role Support:

  • This position will support R&T and will be spread across all five therapy areas. The initial effort will support PAD with emphasis on DCB.

Job Description:

Responsibilities May Include:

  • Performs a variety of technical procedures such as preparing routine solutions and reagents and performing routine reactions
  • Makes and records observations; performs simple calculations; collects and prepares data for evaluation
  • Conducts laboratory support functions such as stocking and distributing supplies and equipment arranging and dismantling apparatus and collecting washing and storing glassware
  • Performs technical and recordkeeping duties in conformance with company and regulatory policies and standards to meet quality and accuracy requirements
  • May analyze compounds and manage corporate compound collection
  • Performs technical procedures in areas including: Production Research and Development Quality Control/Assurance and/or Compliance/Environmental

Technician Support Career Stream:

  • Provides technical support in areas such as production operations maintenance safety testing process improvement or product development
  • Uses schematics diagrams written and verbal descriptions or defined plans to perform testing and troubleshooting on electronic or mechanical components equipment or systems
  • Gathers maintains formats compiles and manipulates technical data using established formulae and procedures
  • Performs detailed mathematical calculations
  • May suggest and/or make improvements to optimize work processes

Differentiating Factors:

  • Autonomy: Seasoned individual contributor working under limited supervision providing assistance and training to lowerlevel employees. Runs minor projects including performing tests interpreting data and developing reports
  • Organizational Impact: Performs technical activities requiring considerable judgment and may have ownership of minor projects. Work consists of technical tasks that are typically not routine
  • Innovation and Complexity: Technical problems faced are general and may require analysis to understand and resolve. Expected to independently propose solutions for supervisor review

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Requires complete and broad knowledge of operational systems techniques and practices typically gained through extensive experience and/or education
  • Requires a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; may require vocational or technical education or certification in addition to prior work experience

Main Purpose:

  • Assist engineers in setting up and conducting R&T development experiments and tests. Collect prepare and characterize specimens.

Position Description:

  • This position supports the development of various new products and therapies for medical device applications.
  • The majority of time will be spent in the laboratory preparing and testing materials.
  • This position works under the supervision of more experienced engineers and follows established procedures.

Main Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Characterization of materials and components using established testing methods
  • Development and optimization of chemical processes and associated test methods under the direction of engineers and scientists
  • Preparation of solutions using standard laboratory equipment and techniques
  • Perform routine measurements and routine equipment calibrations as required
  • Set up and operate testing equipment including data acquisition software
  • Collect and prepare samples for analysis; perform sample analyses using established procedures
  • Document findings and present them to the supervisor or other team members for review

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • BA/BS in Chemistry BioChemistry Chemical Engineering or equivalent
  • 5 years of experience in R&D within medical device or pharmaceutical industries
  • Experience with new product development
  • Strong problemsolving capabilities
  • Solid oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and lead projects

Nice to Have Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience with biological assays and methods (e.g. ELISA assays standard 96well plate assays)
  • Expertise in analytical test method development and validation: HPLC and GC
  • Expertise with analytical instrumentation: HPLCDAD GPC GCFID/MS Karl Fischer FTIR UVVis and Rheology
  • Experience in moderate and complex data analyses using statistical techniques
  • Experience with equipment troubleshooting
  • Experience using chromatography software: Empower and MassHunter
