The Database Analyst (also known as Database Administrator or DBA for short) generally works in the infrastructure side of the IT organization. This Database Analyst position is on the Oracle Database Administration team supporting the clients organization. The focus of this team is the support of Oracle databases. The DBA adheres to best practices within the nuclear IT department while delivering high levels of customer service. The database analyst should be a selfmotivated individual with good communication skills and able to work well in a collaborative environment. The DBA is responsible for the maintenance of production quality assurance and development databases and the availability access and security of the associated data. In addition the DBA will consult with IT support teams and clients to identify and recommend opportunities for better utilization of technologies that could improve business application systems business area operations or infrastructure operations as a result of improved database maintenance database monitoring database security database backup database recovery database performance and/or database integrity techniques. This individual may also provide the overall technical database expertise to the development team in delivering solutions.
Required Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related discipline. In lieu of a degree 15 years of related business experience. Work experience in addition to a degree: 10 years.
Jobspecific knowledge skills or abilities: 1 Experience with structured query language or the equivalent in one or more of the database platforms native programming language(s). E.g. TSQL PL/SQL Access SQL Python etc. 2 Experience in file structures design retrieval access methods etc. 3 Experience with Oracle Database Administration (Oracle 19c preferred). Hands on Oracle Exadata Oracle RAC and MultiTennant Oracle Database usage. Experience with Linux Shell Command scripting.
Preferred Qualifications: Good communication skills and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem resolution skills strong organizational skills ability to analyze business problems and opportunities. Experience with database replication technologies (e.g. Oracle GoldenGate Qlik Replicate). Facilitate meetings and provide direction to others.
