Job Description
Menhir Photonics is a dynamic Swiss laser manufacturer offering laser solutions of unprecedented robustness and reliability to customers around the globe. Based in Switzerland our team has strong expertise in t development and production of ultrafast lasers for the markets of aerospace telecom and metrology. For our ambitious business scaleup we are looking for a Technical Project Leader.
Tasks
Your primary duties and responsibilities:
Project Management
- Lead and coordinate ultrafast laserrelated projects across all phases including planning design development testing and production
- Monitor and report on project progress proactively identifying and resolving any potential risks or delays
Customer and Stakeholder Interaction
- Act as the primary point of contact between the company and clients for technical matters related to the project
- Understand customer needs and provide technical solutions that align with business objectives
Team Leadership
- Supervise and guide a crossfunctional team of engineers scientists and designers involved in the project by fostering collaboration between departments (R&D engineering manufacturing quality assurance etc.) to achieve project goals
- Provide technical leadership and guidance on the design development and testing of ultrafast laser subsystems
- Solve complex technical issues related to adopted technologies and guide the team in finding solutions
- Collaborate with SCM team to select and manage suppliers and vendors to source components and ensure they meet the necessary specifications
Quality and Compliance
- Ensure the products meet the required technical specifications quality standards and regulatory requirements
- Conduct risk analysis and implement strategies to minimize risks for product performance and safety
- Work with the quality assurance team to develop and implement test protocols
Requirements
Your background:
- Masters degree in Electrical Engineering Physics Photonics Optics or a related field
- Proven experience (5 years) in photonics component development project management or engineering roles preferably within a hightech manufacturing or product development environment
- Strong knowledge of photonics technologies such as lasers optical components fiber optics and photonic integration.
- Previous experience leading or managing technical teams and projects
- Solid understanding of project management tools and methodologies
Conditions
- The position is 80% to 100% (3442 hours/week)
- Onsite
- The workplace is located at our headquarters in Zurich Switzerland
- The preferred starting date is March/April 2025
