Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced System Architect with expertise in Java development and AWS cloud environments to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will design and implement scalable robust and secure systems that align with our business goals. This role requires a deep understanding of system architecture principles cloud infrastructure and advanced Java development practices.
Scoring:
- 20%: Cost
- 40%: Experience with some or all of the following: Writing Soap microservices APIs and RESTful web services using the Spring Framework Implementing Spring Security Reading / Writing Spring Data to Aurora Postgres/Oracle and Mongo databases consideration given for experience with: AWS EKS JBoss DROOLS VAADIN.
- 20%: Java programming experience duration and quality. Full stack Jira and Bitbucket or GIT experience a plus
- 20%: Experience with an eligibility and enrolment system or other Governmental systems particularly that related to public benefits or payments/collections.
Required Skill:
- 5 Agile software development experience leading projects from technical standpoint
- 5 years with Java 1.7 / 1.8 programming language or higher
- Experience with AWS cloud infrastructures and related technology and tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Architecture Design
- Design endtoend system architectures ensuring scalability reliability and performance.
- Develop and document architectural solutions including diagrams and technical specifications.
- Define system integration strategies and establish best practices for development and deployment.
- Java Development Expertise
- Lead the design and development of core system components using Java. Optimize Java applications for performance and scalability.
- Provide guidance on Java coding standards and best practices.
- AWS Cloud Environment Management
- Architect and implement cloudnative solutions on AWS.
- Leverage AWS services such as EC2 S3 Lambda RDS and more to build robust systems.
- Ensure systems adhere to AWS best practices for security reliability and cost optimization.
- Technical Leadership
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams including developers DevOps engineers and business stakeholders.
- Mentor junior team members and provide technical leadership during project lifecycles.
- Conduct code reviews system audits and performance assessments.
- System Monitoring and Troubleshooting
- Implement monitoring and logging solutions to ensure system health. Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues promptly. Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field.
- Proven experience as a System Architect or similar role.
- Strong proficiency in Java development including frameworks such as Spring or Hibernate.
- Extensive experience with AWS cloud services and infrastructure.
- Solid understanding of microservices architecture API design and containerization (Docker Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines DevOps practices and tools (Jenkins Git etc.).
- Strong knowledge of database systems (SQL and NoSQL).
- Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- AWS certifications (e.g. AWS Certified Solutions Architect).
- Experience with serverless architecture and eventdriven systems.
- Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks and technologies.
