Job Description
Facility: UnityPoint Health Iowa Lutheran Hospital
Location: 700 E University Ave Des Moines IA 50316
Contract: 13week
Shift: 7:00 AM 7:30 PM / 7:00 PM 7:30 AM
Pay: $30/hr on W2 or $32/hr on 1099
- Provide basic care to patients including assisting with daily activities like bathing dressing and mobility.
- Monitor patient conditions by taking vital signs noting changes and reporting concerns to the nursing team.
- Assist with patient rehabilitation especially in postop and ortho cases.
- Document patient information and report on progress.
- Work as part of an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Follow all infection control and safety protocols.
- Assist patients in achieving recovery goals providing emotional support where necessary.
- Experience: Acute Rehab and/or Med/Surg background in a hospital setting is ideal.
- PostOp Rehabilitation/Ortho experience is a plus.
- Licensure: Active Iowa CNA license required (Compact licenses are accepted).
- Certifications: BLS required.
- Travel Experience: At least 1 successful travel contract completed.
- Availability: Must be able to commit to working 3648 hours per week with overtime after 40 hours and must be flexible with weekend shifts and holiday rotations.

- Overtime: Overtime is billed after 40 hours/week (1.25x multiplier for OT).
- Holiday Pay: 1.25x for observed holidays.
- Travelers must be COVID vaccinated; Medical/Religious Exemptions are provided upon request.
- Submission Requirements: Candidates with a taxable home address within 60 miles of the facility will be payed at $27/hr on W2 or $29/hr on 1099.
- Floating: The CNA will be required to float across multiple campuses including Iowa Methodist MC Iowa Lutheran and Iowa Methodist.
- RTO Limitations: Client prefers travelers to take no more than 7 days off during the 13week contract.
