Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled NSX Engineer to design implement and manage VMware NSX network virtualization solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with VMware NSXT/NSXV network security automation and cloud integration. This role involves working with crossfunctional teams to support softwaredefined networking (SDN) initiatives ensuring security scalability and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design deploy and manage VMware NSXT/NSXV solutions for microsegmentation security policies and network automation.
- Configure and optimize distributed firewall (DFW) edge services and load balancing within NSX.
- Integrate NSX with cloud platforms (AWS Azure Oracle Cloud etc.) and hybrid/multicloud environments.
- Collaborate with network security and infrastructure teams to align NSX deployments with business objectives.
- Troubleshoot and resolve NSX networking issues related to routing switching and security policies.
- Work closely with DevOps teams to implement network automation using Ansible Terraform or Python.
- Support data center migration projects involving NSX and SDNbased architectures.
- Monitor and optimize NSX performance using VMware vRealize Network Insight (vRNI) and other tools.
- Develop technical documentation SOPs and best practices for NSX environments.
- Provide training and knowledge transfer to operations teams.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in networking virtualization and cloud technologies.
- 3 years of handson experience with VMware NSXT/NSXV.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols (BGP OSPF VXLAN MPLS IPsec etc.).
- Experience with firewalls load balancers and security policies in virtualized environments.
- Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS Azure GCP OCI).
- Scripting and automation skills (Python PowerShell Terraform Ansible).
- Knowledge of VMware vSphere vCenter and ESXi.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with tools like Wireshark NSX Traceflow or vRNI.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Certifications (Nice to Have):
- VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAPNV) or VMware Certified Professional Network Virtualization (VCPNV)
- CCNP CCIE (Enterprise or Security)
- AWS/Azure Networking Certifications
