Job Description
This position will be responsible for measuring and mapping the terrain for construction expansion or maintenance of an airport.
Activities:
- Locate and survey the basic area for airport sites
- Locate the runway centerline and draw the level bench line
- Define the support grid for grading control
- Make accurate field measurements
- Obtain uptodate and reliable data
- Adjust the design to properly fit the actual terrain
- Characteristics
- Be methodical in ones work
- Good math skills
- Pay attention to detail
- Good knowledge of information technology (IT) and CAD
- Written and oral communication skills
- Importance
- Topographic surveys ensure that the terrain meets safety and regulatory requirements for aviation operations.
- Surveying
- Surveying is a discipline that deals with measuring and mapping the terrain and its physical characteristics.
Qualifications :
- 5 to 7 years experience with similar profiles in the Construction / Infrastructure sector including on relevant aviation and/or other related projects of a similar size and complexity
- Understanding of operating in a live airport site
- Experience of operating on site not just office based
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with people at all levels.
- Fluent in English.
- AutoCAD and MSOffice.
- Participation of at least 3 pavement projects.
