Job Description
This position is a combined role and will be based from one of our Veolia Service Centers. When working from base the position will be an integral part of the facility maintenance team or potentially fabrication shop (depending on location). Due to the growth of the Services business this position will be called upon to travel to other Veolia Service Centres mainly based in their region (South/West/Central or East/North/Central NAM). Purpose of the travel will be for facility expansion or upgrade projects and sometimes at customer sites. During the periods away from base the main function of this position will be onsite execution of Veolia facility CAPEX projects. Core function of the role will be mechanical installation repair or upgrade activities. This role will perform duties to the highest standard with regard to professional attitude toward work and safety. When working from the base Service Center the role will ensure installation of equipment machinery general repairs are carried out efficiently and properly.
Key Characteristics:
- Travel to remote facilities to support onsite installation and maintenance of CAPEX projects.
- Strict adherence to all EHS standards in accordance with both Veolia and site guidelines
- Ability to read and implement engineering drawings and P&IDs Works according to project engineering standard
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Travel to Veolia facilities or customer sites for onsite installation of CAPEX projects. Up to 50% travel
- Works in according to the install lead directions &; maintains clear communication to ensure smooth and efficient operations
- Is available oncall for emergency needs to maintain project install schedule
- Works according to the facility maintenance leader directions
- Demonstrates excellent EHS standards and follows policies/procedures in order to keep self and others injury free
- Install new equipment or rearranges existing equipment.
- Performs preventative building and ground maintenance activities at the facility or within the Mobile fleet
- Follow good housekeeping practices by keeping maintenance and tool storage area neat and clean as well as timely cleanup of work area after each job is completed.
- Maintain records and reports as directed by immediate supervisor
- Perform physical duties such as lifting climbing working at elevated heights and manual dexterity
- Work in confined spaces with 14x18 manways
- Work in range of environments to include but not limited to industrial facilities manufacturing facilities and power industry facilities
- Read documents and implement such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Travel where needed for install and repair
Qualifications :
Required:
- High School Diploma G.E.D. Home School Certification or international equivalent to High School Diploma
- Minimum of 1 year of PVC plumbing OR mechanical repair and maintenance work experience or training
- Willing to travel 50% of the time. Up to 1 month at a time.
Preferred:
- At least 1 year of repair and maintenance work experience.
- Experience running Schedule 80 PVC pipe (2 to 8).
- Trade school experience for plumbing carpentry and/or mechanical repair is highly desired
- Positive displacements pump repair experience.
