Our story began during a road trip in the 1990s where our founders Will and Andy travelled across America collecting vintage items while living out of motels. They started purchasing vintage clothing in the USA and selling it wholesale which eventually led to the creation of stores. From there they began designing reworked vintage pieces and thus Motel was born.
Over 30 years and a team of 200 people later every piece of clothing we make is created with the same spirit of fun freedom and adventure as the road trip that first defined the brand. Were still ambitious and independent but now were a global team we work from an operational base in Worcester a design studio in London and a creative studio in Bali.
The role
In this pivotal role based on the island of Bali in Indonesia you will oversee all aspects of production operations; ensuring that our manufacturing processes meet the highest quality standards while maximising efficiency and productivity. Your expertise will be instrumental in managing the supply chain coordinating with various departments including design sourcing and logistics and implementing best practice in production methods. You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a cohesive team environment driving workforce efficiency and fostering innovation and creativity within the production process. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of garment construction fabric properties and production management software as well as exceptional leadership skills to guide and motivate a diverse team across multiple countries. As a key player in our organisation you will contribute to our mission of delivering premium products to our valued customers while adhering to sustainability and ethical manufacturing practices. Main tasks & responsibilities
- Run the Bali Production Team Specifically fabric printing processing and CMT timeline.
- Oversee and manage the entire production process from Development handoff to final delivery.
- Oversee production schedules across a world wide supply chain.
- Develop and implement production schedules to optimise workflow and meet deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards throughout the production cycle.
- Collaborate with sourcing teams to align production capabilities with product specifications.
- Report on supply chain performance and maintain uptodate performance data
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess production efficiency and quality metrics.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions to enhance production processes.
- Train mentor and manage production and reporting staff to ensure high performance and team cohesion.
About you
- A Bachelors degree or Higher in relevant field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in production management within the apparel industry.
- Strong understanding of garment construction materials and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in production management software and data analysis tools. Microsoft and Google suite essential. Netsuite specific would be ideal.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a diverse team in a fastpaced environment.
- Excellent communication organisational and problemsolving skills.
- Strong knowledge of sustainability and ethical production practices
- Able to live and work in Indonesia based at the Bali offices and warehouse.
- To travel across the world to visit both new andexisting manufacturers within our supply chain.
