Job Description
Lead the patch management & VA Closer process for devices managed by cloud Ops
including the timely deployment of patches and its relevant updates to ensure the
security stability and performance of CIB services.
1. Develop and implement a comprehensive patch management strategy aligned
with CIB IT goals and security requirements. This includes establishing policies
procedures and guidelines for patch management activities and/or adhere to existing
standards policies processes procedures governance compliance and security
standards
2. Manage the process of evaluating patches to determine their criticality impact
on the CIB systems and compatibility with existing infrastructure & applications as well
as ensure being updated on the latest software vulnerabilities and patches released by
CBE and vendors.
3. Overview the coordination with the IT teams to conduct thorough testing of
patches in a controlled environment such as a testing or PreProduction Environments.
Ensure patches are tested for functionality compatibility and potential conflicts with
existing infrastructure & applications.
4. Plan and coordinate the deployment of patches across the CIB infrastructure
This involves creating deployment schedules coordinating with system administrators
and application owners monitoring the progress of patch installations.
5. Collaborate with information security teams and IT Security teams to identify
vulnerabilities in CIB systems and prioritize patches based on risk assessments.
Implement vulnerability scanning tools and processes to proactively identify potential
security gaps.
6. Review the reports on patch management activities compliance status and
key performance indicators (KPIs) for management review.
7. Collaborate with incident management teams to address security incidents
related to vulnerabilities or unpatched systems. Develop incident response plans and
participate in incident investigations and remediation efforts.
8. Collaborate with various stakeholders including IT teams Information security
teams vendors and business units to gather requirements communicate patches
schedules and address concerns. Effective communication and coordination are critical
to ensure smooth patches operations and minimize the risk of system vulnerabilities

deployments are conducted according to the defined plans with minimal disruptions to

10. Participate in the formulation and implementation of the IT Operations
Department strategy to ensure the alignment with CIB strategy
Policies Processes and Procedures
11. Participate and recommends improvements to policies processes and
procedures and manages their implementation to ensure all relevant procedural /
legislative requirements are fulfilled.
Supervision
12. Supervise the activities and work of subordinates to ensure that all work within
a specific area is carried out in an efficient manner and in compliance with the set
policies processes and procedures
Compliance
13. Ensure compliance with all relevant CBE regulations banking laws AML
regulations and internal CIB policies and code of conduct in order to maintain CIB's
sound legal position and mitigate any potential risks.
Daytoday management
14. Supervise the day to day operations of IT Patch Management team providing
some guidance in the related area encouraging teamwork and facilitating related
professional work processes in order to achieve high performance standards
