Job Description
Job Title: Data Specialist
Job Location: Austin TX (Hybrid) Only Looking for Locals to Texas
Duration: 8 Months Contract with possibility to extension
Job Description:
Required Qualifications:
- 10 years of experience in data architecture business intelligence and analytics
- Deep technical expertise across multiple BI/visualization platforms (Tableau Power BI Qlikview etc.)
- Proven experience with technical assessments business and technical recommendations and technical roadmaps
- Experience assessing and recommending technical architectures and tools
- Experience designing and implementing data warehouses and ETL processes
- Strong background in data modeling SQL and database technologies
- Previous consulting experience delivering data/analytics solutions
- Public sector experience particularly city/county IT projects preferred
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
- Experience creating technical documentation and architecture diagrams
- Bachelors degree in Business Computer Science Information Systems or related field
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and analyze current data architecture tools and processes
- Evaluate existing data infrastructure and identify gaps/improvement areas
- Conduct technical discovery sessions with IT teams
- Develop As Is architecture and tools environment and To Be future state architecture recommendations
- Create detailed technical specifications and diagrams
- Provide expertise on industry best practices and emerging technologies
- Assess security and access requirements
- Document technical findings and recommendations
- Contribute to implementation roadmap and strategy
- Collaborate with PM to ensure business and technical alignment
