Job Responsibilities:
Deal Execution:
- Oversee the endtoend process of deal execution ensuring timely and accurate completion of transactions.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate due diligence documentation and closing activities.
- Manage project timelines and milestones proactively identifying and addressing potential bottlenecks or issues.
- Prepare and present updates on deal progress and status to senior management and clients.
- File deficiencyfree transaction documents with the regulators (SEC FMDQ Exchange NGX etc.).
- Preparation of financial models and financial forecasts.
Client Relationship Management:
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing clients serving as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact.
- Understand clients financial needs to tailor solutions and services accordingly.
- Ensure clients are satisfied with your advice and services.
Rating Advisory Services:
- Perform indepth financial analysis and evaluation of the company to advise on securing an investmentgrade rating from Rating Agencies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with the rating agencies.
Risk Management:
- Identify and assess potential risks associated with investment opportunities including market credit operational and regulatory risks.
- Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to enhance deal resilience.
- Monitor portfolio performance and exposure to risk factors implementing proactive measures to mitigate adverse impacts.
- Ensure compliance with risk management policies and regulatory requirements throughout the deal lifecycle.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay informed about relevant regulations and compliance requirements impacting the investment industry.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and best practices in deal structuring documentation and reporting.
- Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to navigate regulatory complexities.
- Conduct periodic reviews and audits to ensure compliance and implement corrective actions as needed.
Deal Structuring:
- Develop and evaluate alternative deal structures to optimize riskreturn profiles and meet client objectives.
- Collaborate with legal tax and accounting experts to design and negotiate deal terms.
- Conduct financial modeling and sensitivity analysis to assess the impact of deal structures.
- Prepare comprehensive deal documents and agreements ensuring clarity accuracy and regulatory compliance.
Valuation of Business:
- Conduct comprehensive financial analysis and due diligence to assess the value of potential investment opportunities.
- Develop and maintain financial models to forecast cash flows perform scenario analysis and determine valuation multiples.
- Prepare detailed valuation reports and investment memos outlining findings and recommendations for clients.
Distribution of Transactions:
- Identify potential investors (PFAs Asset Management Insurance Companies HNIs Trustees etc.).
Allocation of Work to Team Members:
- Assess team members skills strengths and workload capacity to assign tasks effectively.
- Monitor progress and provide support to ensure deadlines are met.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment encouraging team members to contribute ideas.
Effective Management of Team Members:
- Provide leadership and guidance setting clear expectations and performance goals.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations offering constructive feedback to enhance individual and team performance.
- Provide mentorship and coaching to team members for career growth.
- Facilitate training sessions to enhance technical skills and industry knowledge.
Deal/Transaction Origination:
- Identify and source potential deal opportunities through market research and networking efforts.
- Evaluate inbound deal inquiries and proposals conducting preliminary due diligence.
- Develop marketing materials and pitch presentations to attract deal opportunities.
Requirements
Job Specifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Finance Economics Business Management Mathematics Statistics or a related field.
- Postgraduate qualifications (MBA CFA MSc. in Finance ACA ACCA) are highly preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in financial services with at least 4 years in core investment banking.
- Extensive experience in the execution and origination of Equity Capital Markets Debt Capital Markets and Mergers and Acquisitions transactions.
- Proven experience in dealing with complex management issues.
- Experience in any of the BIG 4 accounting firms is strongly encouraged.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Financial modeling skills.
- Strong business origination and execution capabilities.
- Strategic thinking and decisionmaking ability.
- Client engagement experience and a good understanding of structuring transactions for SEC and NGX approval.
- Knowledge of raising capital through longterm investment vehicles including debt and equity.
