Procurement Specialist
Northwest Partners is partnering with a premier client in the manufacturing industry to hire an experienced fulltime Procurement Specialist.
What YOU will do:
- Manage the entire procurement lifecycle including creating and issuing requests for proposals/quotes evaluating bids negotiating pricing and terms and placing purchase orders.
- Strategically manage purchase orders monitor suppliers develop supplier performance and ensure ontime delivery.
- Integrate supply chain processes and communicate across supplier development strategic commodity purchasing and planning to address supplier deficiencies before they impact business operations.
- Build strong working relationships with suppliers/partners and ensure seamless processing of purchase orders supplier setup and negotiation savings.
- Present supply chain topics and status updates in meetings with various levels of management.
- Prepare and coordinate business correspondence generate required reports and maintain accurate and complete procurement records.
- Drive sustainable savings through strategic sourcing and implement bestfit technology solutions.
- Mitigate risks within the supply chain by monitoring supplier health and solving issues related to material shortages or poor quality.
- Work closely with crossfunctional groups including Engineering to identify materials suppliers and processes that meet production needs while achieving the best quality reliability and cost.
What YOU will bring us:
- Bachelors degree in supply chain management economics finance business or a related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing negotiations supply chain or operations management preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in procurement for defense contractors or commercial businesses with multiyear contracts or 15 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- Strong problemsolving negotiation and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint) and ERP systems.
- US citizenship and the ability to maintain a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in aerospace or defense/military environments.
- Working knowledge of US Government contracting requirements/regulations such as FAR DFAR and FAR Part 15.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP system.
