Job Description
Job Title: Occupational Therapist (OT)
Location: St. Louis MO 63106 & Nearest CBOC locations
Duration: 6 12 Months
Shift Schedule: 8:00 am 4:30 pm (Monday Friday)
Qualification:
Education: Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program (Bachelors or Masters in Occupational Therapy).
Certifications: Active and unrestricted Occupational Therapist license in any U.S. state.
Certifications: BLS (AHA) and Skill Checklist
Experience: Minimum 2 years of professional occupational therapy experience in a hospital or ambulatory care setting based on specialty area (e.g. lymphedema rehabilitation outpatient therapy).
Responsibilities:
- Conduct occupational therapy evaluations to determine patient needs.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment programs to improve functional independence.
- Assist patients in regaining motor skills for daily activities including dressing eating and personal hygiene.
- Provide adaptive techniques and assistive devices to enhance mobility and selfsufficiency.
- Train patients on ergonomic strategies and workplace modifications for improved functionality.
- Maintain detailed patient records and progress reports in VAs Electronic Health Records (EHR) system.
- Work closely with physicians physical therapists and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Educate patients and caregivers on rehabilitation exercises home modifications and assistive technologies.
- Participate in discharge planning and ongoing rehabilitation assessments.
- Ensure compliance with VA safety policies infection control and therapy best practices.
