AbbVie is seeking a talented and dynamic individual to join our team on a 12 month contract as Medical Manager Dermatology to represent our affiliates medical and scientific voice of expertise for assigned product(s) and therapeutic areas. In this role you will provide expert medical and scientific advice and guidance to key customers facilitating scientific exchange and developing professional relationships with key thought leaders and external experts. You will contribute medical and scientific insights to our Medical Affairs strategies and commercial plans under the guidance of the Affiliate Medical Director. Additionally you will support crossfunctional affiliate teams with medical affairs expertise ensuring cohesive and informed collaboration.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- To proactively support internal company crossfunctional stakeholders to gain alignment on critical success factors including
- The sharing of insights supporting regulatory and payer submissions
- Translation of policy and industry trends impacting evidence needs
- Addressing technical training needs for internal and external partners
- Evaluation of medical and scientific accuracy of core dossiers generated by the medical department (i.e. pricing and reimbursement dossiers HEOR dossiers medical information packs clinical expert reviews etc.).
- To provide medical functional contributions to
- Launch planning and launch readiness activities
- The evaluation of future clinical studies including those that may require companion diagnostic testing
- Contribute to Global Medical Affairs strategic plans
- Provide input into Scientific Interaction and Digital/Multichannel Plans for fieldmedical activities
- To identify and engage key external experts operating as the scientific interface to HCPs/Customer(s) Health Care Institutions External Experts professional associations and government bodies.
- Develop and maintain in depth knowledge for assigned therapeutic product(s) / relevant therapeutic area(s) through attendance / participation at key internal meetings/training sessions relevant congresses and seminars and by regular selfstudy of the national/international literature.
- Establish and maintain professional and credible relationships with key thought leaders / external experts and academic centers; this will involve participating in scientific congresses coordinating advisory boards roundtable meetings discussion fora etc.
- Screen relevant literature and other information from relevant scientific societies meetings and conferences and develop summaries of key messages for use within the Company (e.g. key areas of scientific/company interest new trends in diagnosis monitoring and treatments in the therapeutic area etc.)
- Deliver scientific presentations and medical education programs to healthcare professionals individually or in groups (meetings clinical sessions etc.) where appropriate.
- Design and implement diagnostic research projects within defined standards and budgets (e.g. Phase IV registry/database projects epidemiological surveys and diagnostic quality assurance studies).
- Provide medical/scientific input into marketing strategy and key commercial initiatives as required. Monitor the environment for competitive intelligence (e.g. product strategies studies commercial messages positioning etc.) and communicate where appropriate within the Company.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable national laws and regulations guidelines codes of conduct AbbVies policies and procedures and accepted standards of best practice
- Report any adverse event within 24 hours as per AbbVies policies and procedures.
- Proactively participate in AbbVies WHS programs adhere to policies and promote a safe work environment at all times.
- Adhere to AbbVies internal codes of conduct and compliance processes.

Qualifications :
- Medical Degree or Bachelors degree in a scientific discipline or higher.
- Experience working in a pharmaceutical industry and general knowledge on drug development and clinical research an advantage.
- Keen interest in developing and maintaining expert knowledge for assigned therapeutic area/product and in medical research in general.
- Excellent written and spoken communication and presentation skills.
- Fluency in written and oral English is highly desirable in order to facilitate communications between the affiliate medical department Regional and Area Medical Affairs and other AbbVie functional staff.
- High customer orientation. Strong commitment to compliance with the relevant rules and procedures and to scientific quality and integrity.
- Collaborative teamoriented approach able to develop and support relationships across an organization as well as with key external stakeholders and the healthcare community at large. Experience being an active contributor to crossfunctional teams and/or working in matrix organizations will be an advantage. Works independently: limited guidance/oversight. Works broadly across functions to facilitate and support the affiliates medical and clinical activities as necessary.
